FAQ’s

How do I pay?
We require a deposit of 25% to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks prior to your cottage holiday.
Our preferred method of payment is BACS Bank Transfers and cheques which should be made payable to Coastal Wood Holidays Ltd.

Are your cottages and facilities child friendly?
We are extremely child friendly here with two young children of our own, we understand the concerns of parents. We have additional facilities such as stair gates, cots, highchairs and bed guards for you to use free of charge.
Naturally we have a few stinging nettles and brambles set within our 17 acres but we find that children love to explore the wonderful natural habitat and fauna we have here, trying to identify the abundance of wildlife.
Within the Old Wood Store is a selection of games, books and DVDs for you to borrow whilst staying here.

Are your cottages and facilities disabled friendly?
We have two cottages at the COASTAL WOOD HOLIDAYS which have been specifically adapted to be wheelchair assisted accommodation – Dairy Cottage and The Buttery.

When can I arrive?
For cottages, our arrival time is 4pm. Departure time is before 10am.

Is there flexibility on arrivals days?
During the main holiday seasons, we only accept full weekly or fortnightly bookings. The usual changeover day is Friday for Dairy Cottage, The Buttery and Keepers Cottage. Saturday changeovers are for The Granary Barn and The Nook. Out of the main holiday season, we are very flexible and will try to accommodate any start date and length of stay. We also do late breaks (subject to availability), weekends and midweek breaks.

What is the vehicle access like?

Coastal Wood is accessed by a single track (approx 200 metres long). The track is flat except for a short gentle slope into the main entrance of the site.

Are there good pubs and restaurants nearby?
Yes plenty, all of which are listed in the information folder contained within each cottage. The nearest pub to Coastal Wood Holidays is The New Inn at Amroth Beach.

How far are you from the beach?
We are close to many Blue Flag Beaches. Marros beach is closest however this is inaccessible by car. Amroth Beach is just down the road with free parking. Pendine Sands is nearby and also a favourite.

Can I leave my car there while I hike the Pembrokeshire Coast National Path?
We are ideally located for the coastal hiking routes. If you are staying with us for a minimum of three nights, then you are welcome to leave your car here for up to two weeks at a charge of £2 per day. All proceeds to local community projects.

How far in advance can I book?
Up to two years in advance by telephoning us directly or booking through one of our letting agents.

What are the charges for short-breaks?
Short breaks are available. Three night stays are 70% of the weekly cost. Four night stays are 80%, five nights 90% and six nights are 95% of the weekly cost.

Do you do special offers or discounts?
We regularly do special offers / discounted stay. We normally publish these via Facebook. If interested please ‘Like’ our Facebook page to see these offers.

Can I book online?
You can email us with the dates you wish and we will contact you back. An availability calendar is on the prices / availability page. However, discounts and any seasonal promotions that we may offer from time to time cannot be applied online.

Are the facilities available all year round?
Yes. The cottages and all facilities are open all year.

Can we celebrate a special occasion here?
Most definitely. There are many fantastic cake makers in the area, or we can prepare your cottage with special flowers or champagne if we have enough notice. You can also hire all cottages to have exclusive use of the cottages and land, with plenty of space for a marquee. Please send us your requirements and we will do our utmost to help …. especially if it is for a surprise!

How far is the closest hospital and doctor?
The West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen is a 17 miles away. The welcome pack is very comprehensive and has full details of all emergency contacts, addresses and telephone numbers.

Can you have groceries delivered?
Yes, you can pre-order your groceries via Sainsburys, Tesco, Adsa or Coop. We do have fantastic award winning farm shops, bakeries and butchers nearby. To order from a supermarket, you need to use the post-code SA33 4PW, and choose Clyngwyn Farm, Marros SA33 4PW as the delivery address. Please state a delivery time after 4pm so we are sure we are here to receive your shopping and also please state the name of your cottage in the ‘Delivery Instructions’.
TOP TIP: Please, please ensure that you change the delivery address from your home address to the Clyngwyn Farm address.

How far is the nearest supermarket?
The nearest supermarket to COASTAL WOOD HOLIDAYS is the Coop at Kilgetty, SA68 0YA. Amroth and Pendine do also have amenity shops to buy basic provisions and newspapers etc. Pembroke Dock and Carmarthen have a larger selection of retailers.

Are all cottages centrally heated?
All cottages are fully centrally heated which is under the guests control by use of the radiator thermostats.

Do you rent out DVD films?
There is a free DVD and book library within The Old Wood Store. You are welcome to borrow all DVDs during your stay here.

Are we able to re-cycle rubbish?
Yes, we provide re-cycling bins in all cottages.

What do we need to bring with us?’

We recommend you bring beach towels and wellies. All cottages are well equipped but you may prefer to bring hiking boots or a mountain bike to explore the area.

Is there a shop on site ?
We do have The Diddy Little Shop, which as the names suggests not exactly big, in fact it’s tiny. We use this area to sell any local produce from nearby food producers. Please stock up your holiday provisions form the nearby shops and supermarkets.
